Five Omicron cases have been reported in the Dakshina Kannada district, bringing the total number of Omicron cases in the state to thirteen. Four of the 14 corona positive cases in cluster 1 of the Dakshina Kannada district education institution have been verified, Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar stated. There were hundreds of cases of Omicron mutation in India. It’s causing havoc in 11 states across the country.
Two cluster outbreaks of COVID have been reported from two educational institutions in Dakshina Kannada today:
Cluster 1: 14 cases (of which 4 are Omicron)
Cluster 2: 19 cases (1 is Omicron)

On December 8, the vaccinated 19-year-old woman gave her samples for the COVID test at a Mangaluru college, and her findings arrived the next day. The woman was asymptomatic and her vital signs were steady, as per the agency. Her 42 primary contacts and 293 secondary links were all examined, with 18 students returning positive results and the rest giving negative results. The remaining four cases are all girls, with three of them being 14 years old and one being 13 years old and unvaccinated.
