MIA to usher in true essence of Diwali starting mid-October

 In every nook and corners of India, there’s always a rich culture, heritage, traditions, and diversity present.  And with each unique culture, there comes a billion ways to celebrate each one of them. Reflecting this, Mangaluru International Airport is decked up in dazzling lights to celebrate Diwali. All passengers travelling through MIA are in for a fun filled and memorable time this Diwali and can indulge in various passenger centric activities.

A series of activities that include shopping promotions, artistically created selfie points, craft classes has been lined up to add pep to the festive nip in the air starting October 15. The excitement will not stop there. As the calendar year draws to a close, MIA will continue this Diwali festive spirit till the new year with 2023 season greeting segment of the extended festive season, thereby enhancing the passenger experience.

Starting October 15, passengers will get their chance to ‘Spin the Wheel’ in the domestic security hold area and get exciting shopping offers from select retail outlets participating in this Diwali promotion. Passengers who shop for more than ₹2500 within an hour either at retail or food and beverage outlets will get an assured gift bag with a memorabilia that will add to their memories at this #GatewayToGoodness.

And these two promotional activations will not end with Diwali. Wanting to create a festive atmosphere for passengers, MIA has decided to keep these activations running into the New Year and will end on January 10, 2023. Eventually, there will be more lined up such as MIA lined up for DIY craft activity for passengers from October 18 to 22 available from 10am to 7pm. Experts will be on hand to guide passengers; especially children to put their hands into this activity.

Already, a buzz has been created at the airport which is the luminescent décor of ‘Kalpavriksha’, the wish-fulfilling tree in the forecourt of the lower ground floor. It has emerged as the new selfie hotspot at the airport. Families & individuals, irrespective of their faith take their time off for a picture-perfect moment. A similar décor in the pre-SHA in front of the airline counter will also present one more opportunity to add a picture to everyone’s travel memory bank.

The terminal will also be lit up on this auspicious occasion of Diwali celebrations to add to the festive ambience of the airport. MIA celebrates local festivals and cultures,  enthusiastically. MIA has unveiled the #IndiasCelebrationStarter to capture the spirit of  festival celebrations as a starting point, with millions of passengers travelling all around in order to experience the Indian festive season, reflecting its cultural ethos.

Be it landing home to celebrate the traditional festivals with family or taking-off to live new cultural experiences nationally, MIA is the home for all cultural celebrations.
