Karnataka issued an advisory limiting people’s movement from Kerala

Special measures have already been put in place for arrivals from Kerala due to the current COVID-19 situation. Furthermore, students and employees arriving in Karnataka from Kerala are testing Covid 19 Positive during repeat tests, despite having brought Negative RT-PCR reports, and the frequency of such cases is significantly higher in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.  In this context, for the control and prevention of COVID-19 in Karnataka, instructions have been given from time to time for arrivals from Kerala.

In addition the following instructions are given in connection with travel to Kerala:

 

  1. All Educational, Nursing, and Paramedical Institution Administrators/Principals are urged to instruct their wards who have not yet returned to Karnataka to postpone their return until the end of October 2021. They should also tell their children that they should not visit to Kerala until the end of October 2021.

 

  1. All administrators / owners of hospitals, nursing homes, offices, hotels, factories, industries, and other similar establishments should encourage their wards who have not yet returned to Karnataka to postpone their return until the end of October 2021. 

 

  1. If there is no emergency or urgency, the public is recommended to postpone their plans to visit Kerala until the end of October 2021, in order to avoid the third wave of COVID-19 in Karnataka and protect public health.
