Arogya Mela To Happen In DK From Tomorrow

  The department of health and family welfare, National Health Mission, the district administration, Ayush department, women and child development department, and Srinivas Medical College will jointly organise Arogya Mela in Dakshina Kannada, between April 18 and April 22.

  DHO Dr Kishore Kumar told the media on Saturday, that the Mela has been planned as per the directions from the Union government, to mark the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Mela, which is aimed at creating awareness on all systems of medicines among people, will be held at Sudhana Residential School at Puttur on Monday, Krishnanugrha hall in Ujire on Tuesday, Surathkal PHC on Wednesday, DK ZP Higher Primary School, Kalladka on April 21 and KVG Medical College Hospital in Sullia on April 22, the DHO said.

  Registration and screening for non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension and cancers — oral, breast, cervical—will be conducted along with treatment. In addition, Covid-19 vaccination, speciality services for mother and child health, eyes, skincare, ENT, dental and orthopaedic care will also be provided. Beneficiaries registering for general health check-ups will get a health ID.  Based on patients’ needs, free referral services will be provided. Health cards to eligible beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka Scheme will also be distributed during the Mela. 

  Awareness will be created on AYUSH clinical services, including medicines for boosting immunity, improving lifestyle for healthcare, yoga, and meditation. The participants should bring a copy of the ration card and Aadhaar number for registration.
