The scheduled CBSE Class 12 board exam, postponed in the wake of the worsening COVID-19 crisis, might be held only after July taking into consideration the current situation. A high-level meeting of the education department with the government will be held on June 1, 2021 to take a final call on the fate of the CBSE Class 12 board exams.
However, a large section of the population has been demanding that Class 12 students must be promoted on the basis of internal assessment just like the students of Class 10. Thus, the ministry has consulted the UGC and various other experts on the issue but it is too early to take a decision about the same.
Since the exam process including evaluation and the declaration of results takes about a month, if the exams cannot be conducted in July as well, then there will be no further delay and students would have to be promoted based on internal assessment.
In addition to this, sources hint that NEET and JEE Mains examinations would be postponed as well. Nevertheless, Class 12 exams would be conducted before NEET and JEE Mains.
