Covid-positive kids get special home isolation kits

For COVID-positive children, special home isolation kits have been advised to help limit the number of times they are admitted to the hospital. Within BBMP borders, around 11,000 children are in home isolation, with 35 being admitted to government quota hospital beds. An oximeter, a thermometer, a red flag warning card for parents, and five ORS packets will be included in each package.

Until now, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has delivered over 55,000 adult home isolation kits and has over 90,000 kits on hand. Only if caregivers monitor and deliver the medications the kits given out.

On January 19, an official circular mandating the kits will be issued. The clinical expert committee’s report came only a couple of days ago. Paracetamol drops may not be much for urban parents, but they are precious for rural folks. In the slums, ASHA workers check children when they fall sick.
