Few of the civic workers have been infected with Cocid-19 and it is important to take stringent measures to protect public health. The MCC has requested people to cooperate to enable efficient and scientific disposal of solid waste in the city.

The bio waste from covid-19 infected households will be disposed of according to the directions from the health department, state and union government.

Each ward has been appointed with Nodal officers and the MCC has formed a task force taking the corporators into confidence.  A mobile swab collection team has also been started. Individuals in isolation will receive kits containing zinc, vitamins and other essential medicines.

MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar said that it is a request from the MCC that the people cooperate in the scientific disposal of the waste. A fine of Rs.5000 to Rs.25000 will be imposed on the violators.
