In his address to the country, the Prime Minister made it absolutely clear that the Central Government will distribute these vaccination doses free of charge to the states.”The government of India will distribute free vaccines to the states beginning Monday, June 21, for all people over the age of 18,” the PM stated.

The Prime Minister stated that the Government of India will purchase 75% of total vaccine output from vaccine makers and distribute it free to state governments. The PM also stated that 25% of the vaccines manufactured in the nation will be distributed directly to private sector hospitals, with the ability to charge a maximum service fee of Rs 150 for a single dosage after the vaccine’s predetermined price.

“The duty of overseeing it will continue to fall to state governments,”

Until now, the Prime Minister has stated that crores of people have received free vaccinations in the country, and that “now those of 18 years of age will also join it.”

According to the Prime Minister, it was resolved on Monday that the government of India would also carry 25% of the burden for vaccination work with state governments, and that “this arrangement will be implemented in the next two weeks.”
