Karnataka offers a 50% reduction on traffic violations until February 11th

The Karnataka government has decreed that until February 11th, the state’s traffic fines can be paid with 50% discount.
The action follows resolution passed by the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority on January 27 asking the state transportation department to make it easier for “access to justice for all” with reference to traffic fines levied by the state government throughout the citiesof Karnataka.The state transportation department advised the government to grant 50% discount on traffic fines throughout the state based on the resolution.
In circular sent on Thursday, the department stated that as “one-time measure,” 50% discount on traffic fines might be given for offences that were registered up to February 11, 2023.
In partnership with payment gateways like Paytm, the traffic police in cities like Bengaluru have introduced online payment methods for fines for moving violations. 
The Karnataka One Services portal offers access to the outstanding fines.
