Karnataka SSLC Examination to be Conducted as Decided

The Karnataka high court  has dismissed the plea to cancel the board examinations.The SSLC examinations to be conducted on July 19 and 22 as per the previous plan. The students attempting the examination will be conducted following all the Covid protocols. The class 12 examinations were canceled in view of the existing pandemic situation. The results would be declared by evaluating the 10th,11th and internal marks. This method could not be used to prepare results for the SSLC students as there wasn’t any previous data. Hence the examinations will happen as decided by the government.

SV Singre Gowda filed a petition to cancel the examinations. The petition claimed that it would become difficult for the students to attempt the examination as it is tough to understand the chapters during online classes. Institutions in Rural part of the state will not be able to conduct online exams. The petition also put forward an idea to evaluate 10th standard results by considering the performance of previous years.

The education minister said that the SSLC examinations are necessary in order to help the students select their stream. He also said the previous year 8.46 lakh students had appeared in the exams while this year 8,76,581 students will write the exams. The minister added that SOP s for conducting the exams have been forwarded to Deputy Commissioner,  Chief Executive Officers, Senior Police officers and Treasury officers. It has also been ensured to declare section 144 of the CrPC will be in place around 200 meters from the examination hall. 

The government has made clear that the paper would be a multiple choice based question paper for the year ending examinations conducted on July 19 and 22. The exams will be held between 10:20 am and 1:30 pm. 

The exams of core subjects like Mathematics,  Science and Social Studies will be held on 19 while languages will be taken up on 22. Sample papers have already been uploaded on the website so that the students can prepare better. The schools are also requested to circulate the sample papers to students.
