“Life is worth the fight” – Ms. Hera Pinto on her journey as an Emcee and aspiring Fashion Designer

From wanting to be a fashion designer to becoming one of the most successful emcees from Mangalore, Ms. Hera Pinto has traveled an incredible road. At the age of twelve, when the idea of becoming a fashion designer first occurred to her, she was sure her dream would come true and had planned everything beforehand. She would complete school and enroll in the National Institute of Fashion Technology, in the city of Bangalore. Little did she know that life had a whole different journey planned for her.

After completing her pre-university studies, Ms. Pinto attended St. Aloysius College for her degree and studied B.com. However, in her second year at college, she got married and stuck out like a square peg in a round hole throughout college. Nevertheless, she graduated with pride. Although she is now happy, single, and has gotten divorced from her husband, her journey as an emcee began when one fine day, her then-husband trained her for an event to be his co-host. The event turned out to be a great experience and that was when she realized how much she loved being on stage.

From that day, she has actively gone in search of opportunities to be the emcee of events and has never once looked back. Of course, the journey was not all easy. Having suffered from frequent suicidal thoughts, attempts, and blues Pinto knows more than anyone else how difficult it is to cope with everything and continue to go on even when things don’t look too good. The courage required to not give up when things start falling apart is something incredible and Ms. Pinto is the personification of a strength that great.

After a few attempts on her life, Pinto decided that things wouldn’t work if she continued like this. So she began to focus on getting her life back on track and pulling herself back together. That one decision has gotten her to see new heights in life. She decided to believe in herself and become a better and much more successful emcee. She decided to move out of her marriage and put herself first. With this decision came a newfound determination and dedication to pursue her long-lost dream of being a fashion designer.

Soon she moved to the city of Bangalore, enrolled in the Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology, completed her diploma all while being an emcee for events in Mangalore for which she would diligently travel every possible weekend. Ms. Pinto believes that life will never be easy but becomes worthwhile when you fight for your dreams. And to this tireless soul, we would like to  say, “We admire your strength!”
