Mangalore: Preparations for new Kambala season – 17 listed

In Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasargod districts, preparations for the upcoming Kambala season are moving quickly. The slushy fields where Kambalas will be held are also getting a makeover. Kudi Kambala (trials) are now being held in a few locations. The Kambala timetable for the year 2021-22, which runs from November 27, 2021, to March 26, 2022, has been released by the Dakshina Kannada district Kambala Samithi. The leaders gathered in the city, spoke with the heads of local committees, and set the dates, keeping in mind the need of adhering to the Covid procedure.

Between March 26, 2021, and March 26, 2022, 17 Kambalas are scheduled. The first Kambala will take place at Moodbidri, and the last in Venoor. Although the timetable has been published, the committee president stated that the dates of a few Kambalas may alter.

Pilikula: The last Pilikula Kambala was conducted some years ago. The minister and the district administration want it to happen, but the job of preparing the field hasn’t started yet. After the newly established Pilikula Development Authority commissioner meets with the district administration, a date may be set. It may happen in December. Due to a property issue, the Talapady Soorya Chandra Jodukare Kambala will not be conducted this year. The Kambala in Paivalike, Kasargod, has been repaired, yet everything in Kerala is dependent on the covid19 salutation.

The general body meeting of the Kambala Committee is anticipated to take place by the end of October or the first week of November. There will be a vote on whether to create a new committee or keep the present one. There will also be a meeting to finalize the specifics of the Kambala Disciplinary Committee, which must be created. Efforts are ongoing to ensure that the chief minister visits either Moodbidri or Miyyar Kambala. The Kannada and Culture Minister is interested in obtaining the chief minister’s participation in a Kambala. Due to ongoing construction, Boliyar in Mangaluru taluk and Panapila in Moodbidri taluk may be able to conduct Kambalas in the year 2022-23.
