Mangaluru: Gulf carriers are offering free date changes to passengers who test positive for COVID

Passengers that test positive for COVID in a 48-hour RT-PCR test or at the airport six hours before departure lose the money they paid for their ticket. Carriers to the Gulf are giving a free date change for a limited time. This date change charge waiver only applies to rescheduling, not cancellations.

Passengers traveling to the Middle East from Mangaluru International Airport can now change their flight dates. This facility was open when Covid cases began to rise across the country.

A traveler who had to fly to Dubai on January 12 tested positive a day before and called the airline only to be told that canceling would cost him almost the same. The mistake he made was not informing the airline that he had tested positive. If a traveler reschedules his journey, even if the ticket price is higher, there will be no additional costs for the same booking class available. If you receive a refund, you will be charged a cancellation fee. As of present, the cost of rescheduling is minimal, ranging between Rs 200 and Rs 750 per passenger, compared to the cost of cancellation, which begins at Rs 2,500 per passenger.
