Mangaluru to install 15 adaptive traffic control junctions for improved traffic management

Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) is set to install 15 Adaptive Traffic Control junctions in Mangaluru city over the next four months under the Integrated Command and Control Center Phase-2 project. Four junctions, including Nantoor, Mallikatte, Bunts Hostel, and Ambedkar Circle, will be developed on a priority basis. MSCL is also introducing an intelligent traffic management system at eight junctions/intersections, including Kottara Chowki, Kuntikana junction, KPT junction, Nanthoor junction, Pumpwell bypass road, Pumpwell old road, Mahakalipadpu, and Kallapu. Corridor management will be introduced on selected corridors, including smart hybrid sensors, ANPR cameras, and Variable Messaging Systems. All these works are estimated to cost Rs 30 crore. MSCL has already provided smart poles at various locations in the city under Integrated Command and Control Center phase-1.
