Meet the new Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu from INDIA!

Harnaaz Sandhu of India is the new Miss Universe 2021. On December 12, 2021, the 21-year-old model was crowned Miss Universe 2021 at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel. Harnaaz wins the Miss Universe title for the first time in 21 years. Lara Dutta was crowned Miss Universe in 2000 before her.

The official Instagram account of the Miss Universe Organization announced Harnaaz’s victory. The beauty queen was crowned the coveted title at the event in Israel. “India is the new Miss Universe,” was the caption of the video.

Harnaaz is a model from Chandigarh.  The Miss Universe winner has been active in the fashion industry for several years and has appeared in films such as Yaara Diyan Poo Baran and Bai Ji Kuttange. She is a strong advocate for women’s rights and looks up to Priyanka Chopra for inspiration. She enjoys yoga, dancing, cooking, horseback riding, and chess in her spare time.

Harnaaz’s victory is historic, as she reclaims the title 21 years after Lara Dutta Bhupathi did in 2000. She is the third Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title. As a teenager, Harnaaz began competing in pageants, winning titles such as Miss Chandigarh 2017 and Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018. Sandhu competed in Femina Miss India after winning the title of Femina Miss India Punjab 2019.
