Nitte University receives international recognition for green initiatives

Nitte (deemed to be a university) has been ranked 253rd in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2021. These international rankings reward institutions around the globe for their contributions to green campus and environmental sustainability policies and practices. In 2021, Nitte took part in this ranking survey for the first time.

There were 956 universities from 84 nations included in this year’s rankings. Green infrastructure, energy, climate change, waste management, water, transportation, and education are among the 39 issues examined in the survey. Students at Nitte Institutions are encouraged to be environmentally sensitive and to participate in sustainable campus activities.

Nitte University was named one of the top 200 universities in the world in the areas of good health and wellbeing, gender equality, and clean water and sanitation in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings earlier this year.

Nitte (Deemed to be University) is located in Derlakatte, Mangalore, India. Nitte was recognized as a deemed-to-be university by the Indian government in June 2008. The University has received an “A+” grade from the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC).
