Now Covid Test Is Mandatory To Enter Karnataka

Amid fears of the new Omicron variants, As a precautionary measure, the authorities in Karnataka have made Covid test compulsory for all passengers arriving from Kerala and Maharashtra, along with vaccination is necessary. Authorities have given instructions on deputing special teams at major bus stops, terminals and railway stations to check the passengers and conduct Covid tests.

Incoming travellers from Kerala and Maharashtra need to have a negative RT-PCR test report no longer than 72 hours old. Further incoming travellers from these two states have to be tested on arrival. Students from Kerala who travel daily into Karnataka have to undergo RT-PCR tests every 14 days and need not undergo daily tests. Students who are residing in hostels will have to undergo an RT-PCR test every 7th day. Additionally, staff who are working in hotels, restaurants, cinema halls, swimming pools, public libraries, and zoos, must have received both doses of vaccine.

This precautionary measures is implemented to see to it that no cluster of Covid cases comes up. The officials will have to take the call to send samples for genomic sequencing to find out new variants.
