Patient statistics in Dakshina Kannada

In Dakshina Kannada, less than 76% of those who tested positive in December opted for home isolation even though the number of average cases have had a steep fall. November saw an average of 66% who chose to recover at home while in between the time period of April to December, 62% infected people opted for the same.

Nodal officer for Covid-19 in the district, informed that the Department of health is taking all required measurements of monitoring those in home quarantine and preventing communal spread of the corna virus. The department also insists that all primary contacts of infected persons also be tested. He also mentioned that ever since the disease was detected in Dakshina kannada in March, more than 4.3 lakh people have been tested. 

As of December 20, there are 374 active cases out of which 284 (75.9%) are isolating themselves at their homes and 90 patients with mild symptoms have admitted themselves in hospitals. 69 are in private hospitals. As of December 21, 732 have died due to the disease and a person in home isolation has died.
