Ph.D. scholar from NITTE bags the Esteemed Newton – Bhabha Ph.D. placement Fellowship

Mr. Prithvisagar K S a Ph.D. scholar is rewarded with a prestigious scholarship for his efforts, he is working under the guidance of Dr. Krishna Kumar B, Division of Infectious Diseases, at Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research (NUCSER) has been awarded a short-term Ph.D. placement fund to carry out a part of his doctoral research at the University of Plymouth, UK under the Newton Bhabha Funds Program jointly supported by Department for Business Energy & Industrial Strategy in the UK and ­Ministry of Science and Technology in India, along with the British Council in India, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).

Mr. Prithvisagar will be working on the mechanisms of infections caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus, an important human pathogen. He is one of the twenty-one awardees across the country. The fellowship covers the cost towards travel and accommodation besides a stipend for the scholar.

Ashna Rai, a cadet from St. Aloysius PU College's NCC navy wing, was presented with a gold medal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her participation in the annual NCC rally held in New Delhi on Saturday.   She had wanted to join the NCC since she was a young child. She joined the NCC when a student at Canara CBSE School's eighth grade level. Later, she kept working hard in the same field.   Ashna was chosen for the NCC rally because to her outstanding district and state performance. This accomplishment of Ashna at the NCC Rally is attributable to the cooperation shown by NCC cadets Anish Rahul, Atique D B, Roopith D'Souza, and Manish as well as the leadership of wing commander Chandan Garg and Allwyn Misquith. Ashna is the daughter of Akshatha Rai, a teacher, and Ramanna Rai, a businessman who lives in Kadri Kambla.
