Mangaluru, May 4 – With the water level in Tumbe Dam declining due to the scorching heat of summer, the district administration has announced the rationing of water in the city corporation limits from May 4 onwards. The decision comes after a thorough review of the situation and its potential impact on the residents of Mangaluru.

As per the administration’s decision, water will be released to Mangaluru south and Surathkal on alternate days, starting from May 5. Additionally, the supply of water for construction activities and service centers washing vehicles will be discontinued until further notice. The administration has also warned that water supply will be disconnected without notice if any wastage of water is found. The executive engineer of the Mangaluru city corporation has urged people to cooperate with the administration and understand the severity of the situation.
